We’ve made it to our 10th Link Love post! Here are some things we’ve discovered this week:
Okay, this may be an old link for some of you, especially if you’re already familiar with Ambleside Online, but I have just discovered it and it is full of helpful stuff for anyone doing a Charlotte Mason style education. This is a Yahoo group that seems to have dried up a bit as it does not have a lot of new content, but there is good content that was added over the last 10 years. Sometimes those old gems are the best.
Another older post, but a good one. Could imagination have an effect on ones morality? Could reading myths be good for children? Brandy from The AfterThoughts Blog discusses this topic and quotes from David Hicks, author of Norms & Nobility: A Treatise on Education.
Enrichment Studies has just introduced a new American Poets bundle including Emily Dickinson, Robert Frost and other great poets (they’re also having a 40% off sale).
Here is a podcast that I listened to while washing dishes (it is on the long side). Catherine Levison, author of A Charlotte Mason Education, is interviewed about what a Charlotte Mason approach to education is all about. There is some practical advice in here.
